Is this overdraft protection or the bank stealing my money?

Savings Protection
Lena Al asked:

I have overdraft protection from my savings account at the credit union. The credit union was holding my checks, charging me a $25 fee and then taking the money out of my savings account. I had $600 in overdraft fees and plus some checks have went back. I believe that the bank manager is stealing my money (call it intution). The bank manager called me on the phone and was screaming at me that I needed to bring $500 to cover the fees. By the time I got to the bank (2 minutes later), it changed to $600. So I pulled my account and found some odd things that they were doing, including holding checks. I went to my other bank and (10 minutes later) gave her $600. Then she said that was not enough because now $615.00. Then charged me $35 to close the account. She wanted to know what was my profession. When I went and paid off the $600 and closed the account, she suddenly got quiet and upset that I was closing the account (now that’s odd). She is hiding something, I feel it. What can I do?
I have closed the account so I won’t be writing anymore checks on the account. :)

If I am low on funds in my checking account, is it wise to use my overdraft protection?

Savings Protection
Donna S asked:

If I am low on funds in my checking account, is it better to use my overdraft protection, or should I transfer money from my savings account into the checking account? If I go into overdraft, I plan to pay it as soon as the next time I get paid.

ImInLove asked:

I’m 24 years old and working as a professional in malaysia.Recently i bought an insurance policy from AIA.After reading my insurance policy, i want to know a few things like
1) will i’ll be getting annual cash dividents?
2)if let say i want to surrender my policy after 20 years..will i’ll be getting my premiums back + the dividents?
3)is this the best savings+protection policy?
I’m confused..i want to ask my agent but i think its better to get opinion from other people first before consulting her.
and one more thing..is it benificial to own a few insurance policies?
Yeah..actually im more looking towards protection compare to $$ because i want to make sure my children have enough $$ to support their lives in case something happened to me…

What is overdraft protection? Do you pay for that?

Savings Protection
Judy asked:

I thought overdraft protection was just tying your savings account to your checking.
Please edify, elucidate, and englighten me.
Could you give an example of:
This negative balance is like an instant loan on which you pay interest as it it were a loan (and the interest is often higher, almost comparable with interest on cash advances on a credit card).
No fees? They just charge you interest on the amount of your NSF?

what is Bank of american overdraft protection? and how does it work? Do i get charged and if so how much?

Basically i purchased two cellphones which i got over charged for accidently. My checking account didn’t have enough money for what i was charged causing bank of america to use my savings to pay the rest of the amount. Will they charge me for this since they’re using my own savings account?

Anyone hear of a Preferred Savings Network, supposedly an identity protection firm for credit cards?

Savings Protection
whalenfree asked:

I just received a call from someone asking me for an expiration date on my credit card and he was willing to wait as long as it took for me to get this info from my credit card and it didn’t matter which card it was. I just left the phone off the hook and then eventually he hung up but then called right back. When I refused to give him the info he said i would regret it!!!
This company is supposedly located in Scottsdale AZ.

Overdraft protection Washington Mutual?

Savings Protection
FreakyGeeky asked:

I am constantly getting charged overdraft fees from Wamu and would like to know what bank I can move to that I can get overdraft protection. According to wamu, I can’t link an account that would cover the overages unless I sign up for their platinum banking which has a heft monthly fee and account minimums that are too high for me. Is there any bank that just makes it easy and lets you link a savings account to your checking account?
